Everyday is Black History Month for Sonic Watermelons Executive Producer, Reza Clifton. That's why we're looking at another diverse racial group: Asians and Pacific Islanders in RI. We'll be hearing data and anecdotes about Racial Profiling in RI from the perspective of Southeast Asian youth connected to the organization, Providence Youth Student Movement (PrYSM), which recently advanced their awareness and advocacy work on the issue through a new short film called "Fitting the Description" (which was partially aired on Sonic Watermelons on February 1, 2012). We'll also talk about tomorrow's Bilingual Poetry Night at Roots Cultural Center, a night celebrating Asia and Pacific Islander Cultures featuring Agus Lele of the group Bali Brothers.
